God Puts us in Situations to Stop us from Running from the Truth—R Fritz
The truth for us is what we believe it is because it is how we see it. We refuse to take the time to see God’s truth, there is an enormous difference. We keep doing the same things we always have that bring us the same results. Eventually we see the results we have gotten are not the actual results we thought looked good. The results we eventually see as the truth that we thought were good are not good, it is like a mirage in the desert it is what we want to see. This is what Satan does to us, there are scales on our eyes, blinders on us so we can only see what is in front of us and not on both sides of us or beyond. We are deceived and we cannot see God’s truth. Acts 9:17-18 says “And Ananias went his way and entered the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, which appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight and be filled with the Holy Ghost. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.” This speaks about Saul whose name was changed to the Apostle Paul and his conversion to follow Jesus. Before we receive the Holy Spirit, we do not see the things of God, the scales are on our eyes, and why should we if we want nothing to do with God. That is why we need to invite God into our life and the situations we are in.
We need to know the character of God versus the character of Satan. God has given us freewill, but Satan wants to control us through our thoughts then our actions. We choose to serve God or serve Satan, there is no place we do not serve one or the other. It is sin where Satan is in control or if we choose Jesus and follow him and repent of that sin, we live a life where we are walking down a path that takes us away from sin and eternal life. Especially when we choose Jesus does Satan want to bring us back under his control. Satan hates us because we chose Jesus and not him. Satan knows he has those walking with him because they live the status quo where we automatically follow our wisdom with men, it is when we change and find out our spiritual roots and who we really are and who we are meant to be where we start our life with Jesus. Colossians 3:2 says, “Set your affection (mind) on the things above, not on things on the earth.” Jesus took our sin to the cross, the last sacrifice needed which took the penalty of death for our sin so we can live our life in eternity if we choose Jesus. If we do not choose Jesus that penalty of eternal death is applied to us.
What is the truth? Jesus is the truth and man could not handle the truth because God’s truth is not of this world. That is why we could not handle it, truth is righteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:10-13 says “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believe not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:” We must love truth, God’s truth and believe in him. When the truth is revealed, we become busy and keep ourselves busy, so we do not have to change, it requires us see God’s truth when we do not want to. We tend to keep doing the same things every day until the things around us become worse, until we eventually see the truth. Truth has a habit of sneaking up on us, just because we do not see it does not mean it is not there. We can make excuses or look the other way, but it is still there. We look and are focused on the wrong thing or person. Every day requires us to focus on Jesus where we can see spiritually what is going on around us and we are not broadsided. We focus on our day-to-day things we do on automatic pilot because we are so used to doing the same things. I know because I was there and did what I wrote. We are blindsided because we thought things were good, but reality was completely different, things were falling apart in our life in front of us.
When we are running from the truth we are running from God. Our family also pays a price that we should be the leader of. It gets down to the man in the house to step up and take their God given role. The single-family model still needs to have a leader step up. One thing that will happen is if the man does not step up, the woman will. Sometimes the woman must be the leader before the man takes his role. If the man does not do what is needed prayer is what changes attitudes and overcomes fear. We want miracles where our man changes immediately, we must be patient. We must surrender “our” will and that should be the prayer for our family leader. We need to look at ourselves first and be that family leader which requires us to be the Holy Spirit’s helper and to be the person who shows love to our spouse when they do not deserve it. It is called unconditional love, which is what we want, but we need to be the person to show that. Galatians 5:22-24 says “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” I have told many people how to change their spouse, it is with unconditional love. God showed me first which I used many years ago, it was my gift from God to many people.
That unconditional love is the Holy Spirit because God is love and is also a Spirit. What people are looking for more than anything is that feeling love gives us that fulfills us, more than money because when money leaves us, we lose what money gives us.
